About Us

Elizabethtown Partners in Counseling (EPIC) was built with a vision of providing the highest quality psychiatric and mental health service, care, and education to the children, adolescents, adults and families in Hardin and surrounding counties, fostering meaningful opportunities for mind and body wellness.

We strive to deliver these services with the help of highly experienced and trained mental health providers that are committed to improving the quality of life of our clients in a safe and patient friendly environment, integrating biological, psychological, and social factors in a wide variety of treatment modalities.

Over the course of our professional and personal relationship with EPIC, the desire to create connections and to be a part of a larger community of change has grown for us both. Our interest and our sense of purpose have been nurtured throughout our career with EPIC. More than any other factor, our sense of purpose has been strengthened through the sense of family among those who have made and continue to make EPIC more than a workplace.

Elizabethtown Partners in Counseling, to us, is and will always be a more than an agency; in a profound sense, EPIC is a family, a wonderful group of caring, professionals, that loves, grows, and changes as we work with others in the community. Collectively, we decided we wanted the sense of family to continue and for all of us at EPIC to continue working together fulfilling our professional calling well into the future.

For several years, we knew Rick was ready to retire and had plans to retire in 2020. Planning began nearly two years ago in preparation for Rick’s retirement. We both were invested in the future of this great little agency and wanted to help carve its future.

So as January 2020 arrived, we formally initiated our transition from employees to owners. The transition has not occurred without major changes, fanfare or disruption. Our goal is to continue, develop, grow as a family of professionals, and build upon the incredible foundation Rick and Rhonda nurtured for twenty years.

Before we could get our feet firmly planted, we were forced to close our doors and move to tele-health in March when the pandemic intensified. Our plans for the agency before the pandemic remain the same as during the pandemic: continue to develop and grow our practice. Though now, we have added “adapt” to our plans.

To meet the challenges of health, safety, and care, we have learned to embrace the service delivery option of tele-health and telemedicine and have already increased our services by hiring new personnel. Once the health risk is past, we will continue with our plans to expand past Elizabethtown to offer services to some of our more rural counties.

We believe in our team, our family, and our ability to make a difference now, in the future, just as EPIC has made a difference in the past. We are thankful for the opportunities given to us through EPIC and through our relationships within Elizabethtown Partners in Counseling.
